concerning what we are obliged to do in this life, in order to live humanely and develop conscience.

In G.I. Gurdjieff’s system of self-knowledge, transmitted in his seminal text, Beelzebub’s Tales to His Grandson, the Obligolnian Strivings are presented as a set of practices by the prophet Ashiata Shiemash for acquiring genuine conscience.

 The Five Strivings are as follows:

✴ The first striving: to have in their ordinary being-existence everything satisfying and really necessary for their planetary body.

✴The second striving: to have a constant and unflagging instinctive need for self-perfection in the sense of being.

✴ The third: the conscious striving to know ever more and more concerning the laws of World-creation and World- maintenance.
✴The fourth: the striving from the beginning of their existence to pay for their arising and their individuality as quickly as possibly, in order afterward to be free to lighten as much as possibly, the Sorrow of our Common Father.

✴ The fifth: the striving always to assist the most rapid perfecting of other beings, both those similar to oneself and those of other forms, up to the degree of the sacred ‘Martfotai’ that is, up to the degree of self-individuality.

It is time, given the world circumstances and challenges, to take these strivings to heart. We intend to explore the practical application of this path to conscience in the context of our daily lives. Everyone is invited to share their experience and insight. The forth striving emphasizes the further obligatory task awaiting us

beyond the quest for our own transformation.

 We have decided to cancel the Bennett Pilgrimage tours for 2014.

We did not receive the required minimum number of travelers for our tours. With each tour we need to reach a certain number of travelers so we can meet the tour price. The bus seats a maximum of 27 people, but we like to keep the maximum seating around 22, this leaves space for those who would like to rest in the back, and because of limited space for luggage in the hold. We also like to keep the minimum number of people on the tour so we have a manageable working group. This year we indicated minimums of between 17 and 15 people, any lower minimum number of people would not be feasible due to petrol costs, and expenses.

The tours will be rescheduled for next year, 2015.

The details will be uploaded to the website and here within the next month.

We will follow the same itinerary for Eastern Turkey and Armenia, as is posted for 2014 on the website. The dates will change slightly, but we are aiming for late May through June for the tours. The price may change depending on increases or decreases in the cost of services.

It is our wish that you can join us next year for one of our tours, both of the tours are so rich in experiences culturally and spiritually. We respect whatever spiritual tradition you belong to; respecting your beliefs and background. It is our wish to make the experience accessible to all who wish to participate.
